Tim’s Performance Service Center had its roots 50 years ago, in the extensive automotive background of owner-manager Tim Gibson. Tim started working with autos back in 1971, in the St. Petersburg, Florida Dew Cadillac. He started his formal automotive repair training at Dixie Hollins Automotive School. When the school won the Plymouth Troubleshooting contest, Tim’s integral role in the project was a sign of his bright future in the auto repair industry. 50 years ago, Tim Gibson was in the beginnings of his career of helping people with their car repair problems.
By the age of 19, Gibson was already a certified ASE technician and had a job as a Service Writer for a Dodge dealership. Soon Tim was the Assistant Manager for the dealership’s service center.
In October 2006, Tim’s Performance Service Center was born out of Tim Gibson’s desire to use all his knowledge, talent and experience to help people with their autos. When Tim opened the shop in Tarpon Springs, Florida, he was ready for the challenge. His 45+ years as an ASE certified technician gave him the know-how to set up a business with only the most qualified skilled technicians.
Tim’s wife, Reggie, plays an essential role in the business of Tim’s Performance, taking care of the office duties and the paperwork. Tim & Reggie are active in the Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce and Reggie has been Secretary of the Tarpon Springs Merchants Association since 2015. She is also in her 2nd term as President of the GFWC Women’s Club of Tarpon Springs. That level of care and commitment is exactly what you can expect from Tim and his technicians here at Tim’s Performance.
